Accomplishments:

  • Teleconferenced with Courtney Cox, Joe Hoffman, and Will Peratino regarding Workforce Connections issues for the MSHA training. The results of this meeting are available at http://msha.immersion.gmu.edu/progress/minutes/190

  • Began developing three new NIOSH scenarios and two duty-based scenarios

  • Submitted previous updated NIOSH scenarios to SME’s for feedback

  • Partial update of Workforce Connections interface to reflect instructional strategy


Open Items:

  • Awaiting updated Workforce Connections modification requests sent to Courtney Cox on 02/22/07

  • Awaiting sample design/cross-referencing matrix from Will Peratino

  • Developing design/cross-referencing matrix) that maps learning outcomes to objectives and assessment

  • Awaiting feedback regarding Training Responsibilities from Bob Duncan and Jeff Glatter

  • Developing three new NIOSH scenarios ("I can't get enough air", "Escape from a mine fire", and "Unsupported roof fall rescue"), authorized by SMEs

  • Developing duty-based scenarios (Pre-Shift and On-Shift Examinations) authorized by SMEs

  • Create Captivate presentation on how to use Job Task Analyses

  • Reconfigure Fatalgram index and linking to MSHA website from NIOSH scenarios

  • Implement Javascript to open 30 CFR links in pre-determined windows

  • Awaiting SME feedback on completed NIOSH scenarios

  • Implement formatting changes to course objectives

  • Determine how to incorporate user feedback into scenarios

  • Conduct content verification and usability testing for training

  • Research Job Task Analysis ‘Scavenger Hunt concept’


Next Week's Goals:

  • Complete initial development of three new NIOSH scenarios ("I can't get enough air", "Escape from a mine fire", and "Unsupported roof fall rescue")

  • Complete initial development of pre-shift and on-shift duty-based scenarios

  • Select the fatalgrams associated with all NIOSH scenarios and duty-based scenarios and send to SMEs for validation

  • Fully reformat Job Task Analyses for visual clarity

  • Organize resources for 'Review and Refresh' portion of system

  • Complete draft of design/cross-referencing matrix)
