Accomplishments:

  • Converted Pre-Shift examination Job Task Analysis to table version for review

  • Revised the 3 existing NIOSH scenarios that we decided to keep based on SME feedback (continuous miner fire, ventilation cutthroughs, and belt fire)

  • Submitted above scenarios to SMEs for feedback

  • Partial update of Workforce Connections interface to reflect instructional strategy


Open Items:

  • Awaiting feedback on Workforce Connections modification requests sent to Courtney Cox

  • Developing three new NIOSH scenarios ("I can't get enough air", "Escape from a mine fire", and "Unsupported roof fall rescue"), authorized by SMEs

  • Developing duty-based scenarios (Pre-Shift and On-Shift Examinations) authorized by SMEs

  • Create Captivate presentation on how to use Job Task Analyses

  • Develop design matrix (cross referencing matrix) that maps learning outcomes to objectives and assessment

  • Reconfigure Fatalgram index and linking to MSHA website from NIOSH scenarios

  • Implement Javascript to open 30 CFR links in pre-determined windows


Next Week's Goals:

  • Complete initial development of three new NIOSH scenarios ("I can't get enough air", "Escape from a mine fire", and "Unsupported roof fall rescue")

  • Complete initial development of pre-shift and on-shift duty-based scenarios

  • Select the fatalgrams associated with all NIOSH scenarios and duty-based scenarios and send to SMEs for validation

  • Fully reformat Job Task Analyses for visual clarity

  • Organize resources for 'Review and Refresh' portion of system

  • Complete draft of design matrix (cross referencing matrix)

  • Our team meets each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9am to 3:30pm

  • Internal team meetings are Wednesday and Thursday, 9:15am to 10am
