MSHA Project Status Report
Status Report Date: October 6, 2006

Accomplishments:
- Follow-up with Mike Rutledge regarding underground coal mining media and reading material
- Used mind manager to update the pre-shift JTA spider (from last year)
- Sifted and arranged the coal mining resources (media and reading material) gathered from last year and this year
- The team decided to use ModX to maintain the team website
- Received lesson content and media on underground coal mining from Don Conrad
- Compiled questions for this week’s mine visit
- Leaving for the mine visit to Waynesburg, PA on October 6th 2006 at 2:00 pm.

Open Items:
- Registering for D.C. Ideas 508 Conference in November.
- Follow up with universities that have mining programs.
- Get permission from MSHA and Colorado to use certification videos.
- Get permission to use PA PPT slides for Ventilation, Roof Control, etc.
- Get permission to use Colorado Mine Supervisory Study Guide media elements (Nada started this process)
Next Week's Goals:
- Collect mine related media and reading material from Mike Rutledge at the TRAM conference.
- Continue gathering and discussing information on all duties (focus will be on pre-shift and emergency and unusual situations).
- Continue working out the glitches in Workforce Connections and adding content.
- Continue working on Performance Analysis.
- Continue merging last year’s remaining generic JTAs (On-Shift, End Shift, Arrive on Section) with the P&M JTA and flesh out required job steps.
- Continue reading 75.360 and 75.362 in the 30 CFR to learn about Pre-Shift and On-Shift Examinations.
