MSHA Project Status Report

Accomplishments:
- The client letter has been emailed.
- We have mailed the design document, CD prototype and evaluations to the SMEs
- Met with Mike Rutledge, Safety Instructor and Line Rescue Trainer, West Virginia Office of Mine Safety and Training. Received valuable feedback on the prototype, mining industry and mine supervisory roles. Sent him a thank you letter.
- Completed Workforce Connections training with Will Peratino and Courtney Cox.
- Met with Betty Wilkins and Jennifer Cochran from last year’s MSHA team.
- Went through the JTA duties and compiled and rearranged them in an Excel file. Grouped items in relevant JTAs by category.
Open Items:
- Steps to get Workforce Connections interface up and running on the GMU server, as well as how to get skins loaded.
- Discuss attending D.C. Ideas 508 Conference in November.
- Gather information on all duties.
- Discuss questions for SME visit on 26th/27th.
- Follow up with Mike Rutledge to get material on Mine Rescue, Mine Emergency, or Foreman Training.
- Follow up with universities that have mining programs.
Next Week's Goals:
- Finish composing questions for SME visit on 26th/27th.
- Begin building project site in Workforce Connections.
- Assign team members to begin working on Pre-Shift module and Emergency Situations module.
- Start working on Performance Analysis.
Next Week's Meetings: Our team meets Wednesday and Thursday, 9:15 – 10:00 a.m.
