Items discussed (SME meeting)
- We do not need to include the "additional instructor" feedback in the NIOSH scenarios.
- No fatalgram abstracts into the last page of the pre-shift, on-shift, or arrive on section scenarios. Just provide the links to the list of ALL the relevant fatalgrams. Sharon Casto provided Abi and Tangie with a statement to put when linking to the fatalgrams.
- In the E&US scenarios, we can pull the fatalagram abstract along with the best practices (some fatalgrams may not have a list of best practices). Do not align the fatalgram best practices with the 30 CFR.
- The on-shift will have a part 1 and a part 2 like the pre-shift.
- Part 1 of the on-shift to be "arrive on section" stuff which was part of the on-shift anyway. We are now splitting this into part 1 and part 2.
- Some places in the pre-shift and on-shift scenarios to be aligned with the 30 CFR but not as a hyperlink.
- We will develop a separate "arrive on section" lesson or mini scenario or vignettes that include relevant videos and images that align with the "arrive on section" JTA steps. It will be different than the section examination scenarios that we currently have.
- We will do the same for "training responsibilities". There will be two themes for training responsibilities: leadership and safety. The emergency theme will be under safety. We will use vignettes that illustrate through video, images, or text, what a supervisor's training responsibilities are (based on the training responsibilities JTA steps) and how to be a good leader or what are the qualities of a good leader but not actually how to train miners. We will include for example a picture or video of toolbox talks, safety talks, discussions, etc. Many of these videos can be found on the Mining Safety CD that we already have.
- end-shift examination development needs to be disussed
- SCSR videos to be included from the MSHA training in the "I can't get enough air scenario"
- Sharon Casto will be mailing us a DVD with pictures and/or videos that we can use. She will also inquire about the copyright issue and about the potential of having real supervisors evaluate the training.
