Items Discussed:
- The design for the training system to have the following: -
The scenarios tab would have 3 subsections:-- Pre-shift
- On-Shift
- Emergency and Unusual Situations
-
Each of these subsections would have scenarios. For example: Preshift subsection could have scenarios on:-
- Continuous miner
- Longwall section
- Extended cut
- Split ventilation
- Pillar
- The NIOSH scenarios to consider for development under EUS:
- Continuous miner (already developed by Tangie)
- Belt fire (already developed by Rashmi)
- Ventilation cutthrough (already developed by Abi)
- I can't get enough air (from NIOSH)
- Escape from a mine fire (from NIOSH)
- Unsupported Roof fall rescue (from NIOSH) (language to be changed at different places in the scenario)
- The above scenarios should have links to 30 CFR regulations at the beginning and at the end (when summarizing best practices)
- There would be no scenarios for end-of-shift, arrive-on section and training responsibilities
- Change "Pinner..." to "Roof bolter operator"
- Sharon Casto will look at the fireboss scenarios and try to incorporate them as exercises in the scenarios to be developed
- Konosky's checklists (Cumberland mine) may be considered as additional information under the resources tab
- Sharon Casto will send Nada MSHA materials related to training responsibilities
